Soap stars to be scrubbed

Online bookmakers are betting that Jodi Gordon or Luke Jacobz will be going ‘home and away’ from the dance floor in the next episode of Dancing With The Stars.

Both soap stars have hovered over the elimination flame already this season and according to Sportingbet Australia’s Michael Sulliavan punters are strongly backing the pair to dance out the door.

But gamblers will have to wait to find out who is booted from the show after Channel Seven announced the program wouldn’t return until October 12, so it doesn’t have to compete with Nine’s NRL grand final coverage this Sunday.

Danny Green, Paul Licuria and Charli Delaney are also looking a little shaky and have all earned single figure elimination odds, with only injured TV presenter Toni Pearen looking completely safe.

“Toni Pearen is the only performer who looks rock solid in the betting this week," said Sullivan.

“The $2.20 favourite has been the star of the show so far… all the bets we get for Toni are for her to win.”

While Pearen is riding high former Collingwood player Paul Licuria has rocketed up the charts after receiving a nine out of ten from all three judges for his Argentine Tango last Sunday.

Acid-tongued TV personality Red Symons was gonged off the show last Sunday after weeks of dodgy performances.

The famous media bully had an at times rocky ride on the show clashing with controversial judge Todd McKenney and scoring poorly with his dancing.

However even McKenney had to concede he'd improved.

“Look, you’re never going to be a dancer… But you’re better now than when you started,” he said last night.

Dancing with the Stars airs on Sundays at 7.30pm on Channel Seven.  It will return on October 12.
