7/10/2008 8:22:00 AM.  | Laura Tunstall
An innocent by-stander has been shot after hearing gunfire outside his home in Sydney's west.

The 22-year-old heard gunshots at around 9:45 last night outside his home on Greystanes road, at Greystanes.

He went out to investigate and was struck by a bullet to the leg.

The man was taken to Westmead hospital where he's in a stable condition.

Police are searching for three men seen leaving the area - they've also interviewed other residents as witnesses.
