Two Tour de France cyclists test positive

German cyclist Stefan Schumacher and Italian cyclist Leonardo Piepoli have both tested positive for banned substances after this year’s Tour de France.

Schumacher – who won two stages on the Tour – reportedly tested positive for the banned blood booster EPO (erythropoietin), while Piepoli – who won a stage and helped former Saunier Duval teammate Riccardo Ricco win another two – tested positive to a banned substance twice.

Ricco had also tested positive to a banned substance.
