Woman bites, kicks police during arrest

A woman has bitten and kicked two police officers during a violent arrest at Deception Bay, north of Brisbane.

Police said the 18-year-old was among a number of people arrested following a disturbance on Old Bay Road about 11.30pm (AEST).

When she was put in the back of a police vehicle she tried to escape, biting one officer and kicking another in the face.

A woman has been charged with serious assault, assaulting police and obstruct police, and is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on October 20.

The officers were not seriously injured.
