Man crushed by falling car at wrecking yard

13/10/2008 4:05:00 PM.  |

A 47-year-old man has died after an industrial accident south of Brisbane, police say.

Police said the Brisbane man was working at a location on Moss Street, Slacks Creek, about 11.30 (AEST) when the accident occurred.

An unconfirmed ABC radio report said a car fell on top of the man at a wrecking yard.
Workplace Health and Safety and police are investigating.

In a separate incident yesterday at a wrecking yard in Pinkenba, inner Brisbane, a fire engulfed around 100 cars.

Two firefighters were overcome by the heat and taken to hospital for observation.
