Punters steering clear of Aussies

Punters don't believe Australia's bowling attack has enough strike-power to snag a victory in the First Test against India at Bangalore today.

Entering the fifth and final day with a 263 run lead at 5-193, Ricky Ponting is expected to send Shane Watson (32no) and Brad Haddin (28no) in for a one hour slugfest before handing the Indians the bat.

With the pitch still in a decent condition, all the money has been on the draw.

“There’s been a flood of money on the draw, notably bets of $5000 at $1.67 and $10,000 at $1.30,” said Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan.

“Our punters think our spinners may have trouble dismissing the Indian batters.”

Sullivan said that the final day promised plenty of intrigue.

“You can be sure that the betting will fluctuate throughout the day,” Sullivan said.

“Australia is currently at $4.50 but some quick runs followed by some early wickets will see their price shorten right up.”
