Racing NSW has cleared jockey Chris Munce for a return to riding in Australia.
Munce will retain his Racing NSW licence despite being hit with a 30-month disqualification by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) over the tips-for-bets scandal, Racing NSW has confirmed.
The jockey was released from Sydney's Silverwater Prison in late October after serving 20 months of a 30-month sentence handed down by a Hong Kong court.
"The whole period has been very stressful not only on me but my whole family," Munce told 2GB's Ray Hadley after revealing the favourable outcome of Wednesday morning's meeting of the Racing NSW licensing committee.
"But thankfully, with the fairness and natural justice with the Australian authorities, we've got a good result anyway."
More to come...
