There have been fiery scenes in State Parliament today, after controversial new liquor laws passed without the Oppositions' support.
Coalition MPs voted against tough new laws in Parliament overnight, which force 48 of the most problematic venues to restrict alcohol sales and enforce a 2am lockout.
But it was that decision that sent sparks flying from Premier Nathan Rees.
"You are a joke – you are in the pockets of your mates at in the pub and the club lobby," Mr Rees said.
Mr O'Farrell has told 2GB's Philip Clark he only tried to vote against it because it wasn't fair.
"What they did yesterday was the same as what they did with Luna Park three years ago, was legislate a way individuals rights to take legal action."
Nine Sydney venues went to the Supreme Court challenging their existence on the list in the first place - but seven have now pulled out.
